What a week! Do you ever have those days where you feel like you’re in a fog? That is kind of how I felt all week so I am extremely grateful that I decided to take today off from work (and we have Monday off thanks to the holiday!). I still got up at 7:30 this morning to get a head start on getting some things done around the house & catch up from last weekend. And probably take a nap. Or a walk since it’s supposed to be in the 70s today. I have the windows open right & it feels so good to let some fresh air in here! Is it even February?
These two are the reason for my constant state of deliriousness this week, as you can tell by my half asleep facial expression.
Luna (the pup sitting on the floor) was our first foster back in November right after we were approved. A single older lady adopted her so we gave her our phone number for updates & offered to dog sit if she ever needed someone. She called us on Saturday as she needed someone to watch her for a few days this week so we picked her up on Sunday evening and just took her back home last night. Sophie struggled with having another dog in the house & I think it really threw her routine out of whack, especially at night when it was time to go into the kennel. She has done great with the kennel the past 2 1/2 months but this week, she decided to bark nonstop the minute we put her in it. Even last night after Luna had left & it just her again. We put her in the kennel a little after 10:30pm and she didn’t stop barking until almost 1:30am. 🙁
Tomorrow is TREK UP THE TOWER! I am so excited & ready to run those stairs! I haven’t been using the stair machine as much lately since I’ve started doing the cycling class on days I used to do my own workouts. But, I used it last Sunday morning & hit my best time ever so I’m feeling pretty good about the race. Curtis is also doing it this year but he’s just going to wing it. Tonight, we are volunteering to help get everything set up for tomorrow morning.
If you can’t tell, I changed up the blog theme last weekend. While I didn’t mind the other one, I felt like the font was so difficult to read. I added the Google Fonts widget so I could change it but that just seemed to mess up the formatting on my posts so I would revert back to the default font. This is another one of the free WordPress themes but it’s simple & way easier to read (I think anyway). I’m still trying to figure out CSS & how I can tweak this one a little more though!
You may or may not know that I am a die hard Metallica fan so when they announced their tour this week, I had to get tickets for one of their shows SOMEWHERE. I saw them in Omaha in 2008 & they haven’t been back since! This tour is all stadiums so Chicago, Denver, or St. Louis are the closest cities they are playing. I was able to snag a pre-sale code & bought tickets for the June 4th show in St. Louis last night! Curtis’ brother lives there & we have talked about going to visit them. I’ve also never been to St. Louis so we are planning a long weekend getaway + anniversary trip. I cannot wait!
We didn’t end up doing anything for Valentine’s Day this year. Curtis ended up getting hit with some stomach bug overnight & spent most of the day in bed! My office tried to make the day fun by giving out “prizes” throughout the day if you hit a certain number of tasks. Plus it seemed like everyone was handing out candy so I’m glad I had my HIT class that night to work it all off!
Well, that’s all I got for now! Have a great weekend everyone!
