Some Confessions

Happy Thursday!

I realized that it has been ages since I joined in on the confessions link up.  Actually, I’m not sure I’ve done one of these posts since I started this blog so warning you now that these might be all over the place.

..  How do people go 3, 4, 5, etc. days without washing their hair??  I’ve gotten to the point where I can go every other day or every two days after being someone who washed their hair every. single. day.  I know you have to “train” your hair but man, it’s so hard!  Even with dry shampoo, my hair starts to feel like straw by the time day 3 rolls around & I’m afraid to even brush it sometimes.  (side note:  my hair is very coarse, wavy, and thick)

..  Speaking of hair, sometimes I wish I had dreads just so I didn’t have to do anything with it on a daily basis.  Don’t worry, I don’t think I could pull off dreads so I have zero plans to do this.

..  I think our new neighbors are hoarders.  Which is just great because the house right next to us seems to have the same problem.  I mean, why not have two eyesore houses on the same street?  #sarcasm.  For the past few weeks, they have been unloading a pickup full of junk into the driveway & front yard.  I’m not sure they are even putting stuff inside the house from the looks of it.

..  I’m really nervous about Sophie’s heartworm treatment today & tomorrow.  She has to have two shots back to back and she might have a harder time recovering from it.  Plus I feel so bad because she has no idea what is going on either.  🙁

..  I’ve been on a 80s music kick lately.  Lots of Foreigner, Rick Springfield, Journey, etc.  I have a Spotify playlist downloaded to my phone specifically for work so I don’t use all our data but I’ve been needing to listen to something different these days.

..  The weather we’ve been having lately is kind of killing me.  Last Tuesday, I was wearing a dress and sandals but then we got hit with a snowstorm on Friday so it was back to the boots and sweaters.  Thankfully the snow all melted over the weekend but it’s been cold & just plain gloomy.  I need Spring right now!

..  One of my goals for this year was to start getting up earlier in the mornings.  Yeah…. we’re already three months into the year and it hasn’t happened.  However, we just got rid of the blackout curtains in our bedroom & replaced them with normal lighter curtains that let in way more light.  I’m hoping that the extra light in the mornings will help with trying to get up earlier.

Well, that’s all I have for now!  Have a great Thursday everyone!

I can completely relate to the question of hair washing. I used to compulsively wash mine every single day, because it just made me feel better about life. For the sake of its health, I’ve stopped doing that, but I still have to do it every other day, or every two days at the MOST. I haven’t figured out how to go longer than that, ha ha. I hope your dogs shots go well and she has a speedy recovery!

Yes! Even though I showered, I still never felt “clean” if my hair wasn’t washed. I’ve finally gotten past that mindset thankfully, haha. My hair is usually in a ponytail or a half one if it’s day 3 and still not washed. She seems to be doing well so far but still has one more shot tomorrow so this weekend might be kind of interesting!

  2. since switching to natural shampoo, i can wash my hair every 3 days. I think the chemicals in regular shampoo made my hair feel oily and it gave off a weird smell when i didn’t wash it every day…as strange as that sounds. all of that disappeared when i switched shampoos.

I agree, I’ve tried some of those sulfate-free shampoos before and didn’t mind them but I always go back to the regular stuff. I’m trying to use better quality ones rather than the cheap ones you can get at Walmart or something. I just need to find a good natural one!

Oh, the hair thing. I’m “sorta” lucky. I was on Accutane a bunch of years back and my skin was secreting like NO oil, so I “trained” my hair then. I easily could go a week and my hair wouldn’t get oily. Now I usually go about three days. I’ll occasionally push it to four, but then the fourth day is a bun day because I look HAGGARD. Maybe just try rinsing it but not shampooing/conditioning? I know it’s shampoo that’s the worst for it … but I’m no expert

A week?! That would be wonderful, haha. My hair is SO incredibly dry which is part of the problem. By day 3, my hair feels like it could break in half. But then by day 4, it’s a greasy mess so I don’t even know. 🙁

I can’t do that with my hair either. I try to go more than a day in between and my hair is greasy. I just don’t want to train it so I go no more than a day between. So gross. I hate when you have two or more houses that don’t take care of their house or yard. Ugh. We had one of those for sooooo long. I hope that gets better. And I hope your pup gets better.

I don’t have the patience to “train” it to go more than 2-3 days! It’s weird how my hair feels super dry by day 2 but anything longer makes it feel SO greasy, haha. I think maybe switching to some better products might help but that’s always hit & miss, right? I truly think they are hoarders. They have been moving in over the past several weeks & they are hauling garbage, haha! Sophie is doing pretty good now but can tell that she’s definitely feeling the effects of the treatment. 🙁
