30th ‘Birday’ & Other Weekend Happenings

Isn’t that the truth?  Happy Monday friends!

And we’re back to another week.  I feel like work has been crazy busy & pretty stressful (not just for me but for everyone in the office) so I’m trying to start the week with a fresh mind.  And you know what helps with a fresh mind?  GETTING AWAY FROM YOUR DESK.  I’m kind of slightly embarrassed to admit that I get “stuck” at my desk for hours & don’t move as often as I should.  And I know it bogs me down throughout the day.  It’s time to get out of this awful rut I’ve been in for far too long.

Moving on… let’s get into the weekend shenanigans!

Friday evening, we had to pick up Sophie from the vet as she had her third & final heartworm treatment shot that morning.  She seemed to be in pretty good spirits despite all of the medication they gave her.  Sadly, her entire back is bare now from where they had to give her the shots!  Her hair never grew from the spot that they shaved in January so the vet suggested putting coconut oil in her food to try to help it grow.

Saturday morning, I laid around & caught up on some blogs from the past week before heading out to the gym.  I skipped out on Wednesday night after work so I felt like I needed to try to make it up.  I did a quick warm-up on the elliptical and a shoulder/bicep tabata-ish workout the rest of the time.  After the gym, I headed home, ate lunch, and started getting ready for the day.

We drove down to Nemaha with Dustin & Britnee for a surprise birthday party for Jacquelyn’s husband, Dayton.  Unfortunately, he found out about the party so it wasn’t much of a surprise!  But, it was still a good time to get together & catch up.  And the best part of it was the sign that the bar made for him– they somehow managed to forget the ‘th’ in birthday.  😛

And of course we had to get some group shots before we left!

We left Nemaha around 10 and got back to Omaha at 11:30.  We called it a night as soon as we got home!  Side note:  How is it possible that my friends turning 30 this year?!   I swear we were those crazy 21 year olds taking shots & closing the bars down at 2am not that long ago….

Sunday was pretty typical.  Got up around 9:30, spent all morning wasting time on my laptop, made lunch, and then went to RIP class at 1:00.  It’s basically the same thing as Body Pump but just without the Les Mills brand.  I’ve been kind of missing this class lately!  I stopped going after I discovered cycling + the Y got rid of their 6:30 Wednesday class which is one I used to go to.  After class, I stopped in Kohl’s to check out some of their running/training shoes as I still have a gift card from Christmas but no luck there.  Then I hit up Vitamin Shoppe since I was right down the street and picked up $20 worth of “heathy” junk food.  (There was also a birthday cake protein bar in there but I was so hungry when I left that I scarfed it down in the car)

I grabbed some groceries at Target and headed home where I spent the majority of the evening meal prepping for the week.  I’ve finally gotten over the chili kick I’ve been on recently and decided to make some salsa chicken instead.  And some protein Kodiak cake waffles.  And oatmeal protein peanut butter balls.  And hard boiled eggs.   Let’s just say I had a full kitchen going!

I have to run back to Target tonight after work because the cashier forgot to include this new in shower + self tanning lotion I found.  I didn’t even realize it when I was unpacking all of the groceries until I was getting all of my stuff together for tomorrow at 8:30pm.  Don’t you hate when that happens?  Anyways, time to wrap this up for now!  Hope everyone has a great week!

Linking up with Biana!

That sounds like a fun weekend! I always feel so accomplished going to the gym on the weekend, even if I do skip a day during the week! And glad the party turned out to be a success even though your friend’s hubby found out about it! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

Yes, I 100% agree with feeling more accomplished after going to the gym on the weekend! I normally skip out on Friday & Saturday but I just needed to do something, haha.

I always think about getting those FlapJacked things but then I never do! I should just spend the $3 and stop wondering EVERY TIME I SEE THEM if they’re good or not, haha. Maybe that place just ran out of room for “Birthday Bash” and thought the th would be the easiest to go! I actually kind of miss doing classes at the gym. I really liked ClassPass in Atlanta because I could go to tons of stuff like that and it was nice doing something different. I still can’t believe I’m 30. I remember when my sister was 16 and I thought she was old. And now I’m 30. And have a kid! HOW did we get so old?

Right, $3 is a lot for those little things but I’ve seen them around & have always wanted to try them! I will let you know if they are any good :). What I didn’t write was that the sign was actually the third one they made for him because the other two had his name spelled wrong! Haha, I think they just gave up. I wish Omaha had Class Pass! There are so many other gyms on the other side of town that I’ve been wanting to try but don’t want to pay for another membership somewhere. Right.. how did we get so old?!

Okay… tried the birthday cake one tonight… not the best! I mean, it wasn’t as awful as the cashier made it sound like but I think Lenny & Larry’s cookies are MUCH better!

Thank you! I haven’t tried the cake bites yet & didn’t even see that they made birthday cake ones?! This was the only flavor I saw. I just tried the birthday cake cookie & it was kinda eh. Not the best tasting!
