Feels good to have the weekend again, right? Although I will say that this week wasn’t too bad, especially starting out on Monday with my birthday! I still went to work that day although this was the first year that my desk wasn’t completely decked out as soon as I got there. It was kind of nice, in a way, as I wasn’t distracted by people always stopping by to wish me a happy birthday. 🙂 I went to Cycle after work & came home to a beautiful bouquet of tulips, gift card to Ulta, and a mini cake! Oh, and we had breakfast burritos from D’Leons for dinner too. The only down side to the day was that it SNOWED in the morning & was absolutely freezing!
The celebration continues into this weekend as my mom & I are going to see Beauty and the Beast tomorrow night and then going out to dinner with Curtis’ parents on Sunday.
And… speaking of tulips, the bulbs I planted back in October are starting to come up! I’ve never planted anything in my life (other than those school projects where we planted seeds in little plastic cups) so I’m amazed that these have survived, haha. I’m excited to see what colors come out too!
I’m SO bummed. I ordered the Nike Air Max Thea shoes last week after I saw they were on sale at Foot Locker. I’ve had my eye on these shoes for a LONG time. Plus, I’ve been wanting another pair of bright blue shoes after I donated my other Smurf shoes last summer. While these shoes are beautiful, I can’t imagine working out in them because they are so narrow! The reviews on these shoes were mostly positive so I thought they would be fine but I think I’ll be taking them back this weekend.
Sophie has been doing great since her heart worm shots earlier this month. She finished then pain pills & muscle relaxer but is still on the prednisone until the end of the month. She has been so funny lately so I’m thinking that she is finally starting to gain some more confidence & learning how to be a “normal” dog. Up until a few days ago, she hated her kennel & would not go anywhere near it. Now she will go in there on her own, lay down, and just hang out. I think she is learning the word “kennel” and to go in it when we say it. This is kind of hit & miss but is still progress! She is finally figuring out that toys are pretty cool too. We keep them in her kennel & she will carry them out or bring one with her into our guest room (which has become her new favorite hang out spot). It’s so cute to finally see her playing with a toy when she was SO scared of them before!
For some reason, she is still so terrified of Curtis. If he walks up to her, she cowers & tries to run away but if I go up to her, she doesn’t budge. She has also decided that she doesn’t want to lay in our bed if he’s there also but she will lay on it if it’s just me. She doesn’t act like this all the time as he will take her outside or let him pick up & hold her for awhile but it’s just strange. I think maybe she just prefers women over men? She freaks out if Curtis’ dad is around but doesn’t get as scared around his mom.
Anyways, time for me to wrap this up! We aren’t doing anything for St. Patrick’s Day other than eating some Irish food & planting myself on the couch. And I think this meme is pretty fitting for the weather forecast the next few days. Have a great weekend everyone!
