Empties Vol. 2

Happy Monday everyone!

Time to look at my trash again!  I’ve had this post drafted for a few weeks now and FINALLY getting it posted.  If you recall my goals for this year, I wanted to stop hoarding products!  I’ve been working through the stuff in our closet as well as makeup in my vanity.  There are some things that I needed to toss even though they weren’t completely used up.  I’m talking about makeup from 2012!  I figured it was definitely time to get rid of those products.

Victoria’s Secret ‘Incredible’ Perfume  |   VS discontinued this perfume awhile back which makes me super bummed.  I love love love this stuff!  When we were in Chicago last year, the semi annual sale was going on & they had several bottles of this stuff on a table.  I bought 3 at that time & kicking myself for not buying more!

Tanwise Self Tanning Spray |  LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff!  You can find this at any Sally Beauty Supply for about $10 and it lasts forever!  I mix this with my Banana Boat self tanning lotion to add a little bit more color.

Up & Up Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer (Firming) |   I know I raved about the Jergens Natural Glow lotion in my last post but I bought this because I wanted to save some money.  While this lotion isn’t terrible, I would still recommend Jergens over it.

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque |  This was given to me by a co-worker last year & I finally used it up.  I will say that this stuff wasn’t the worst hair mask I’ve ever used before but I think I’ll stick with plain old coconut oil when my hair needs some major conditioning!

Herbal Essences ‘Tealightfully Clean’ Shampoo |  I’ve been using this stuff since college & have it on hand for those days when my hair feels extra gross.  BUT… I just saw that Herbal Essences released a new line of products & looked like they were phasing their old stuff out.  I could be wrong but that’s how the Target shelves looked the other day!

L’Oreal Blow Dry It Primer Spray |  I have re-purchased this product several times & highly recommend it!  I’ve tried the Kenra primer spray & absolutely hated how heavy it made my hair feel once it was dry.  This stuff is super light and smells great too!  As for cutting down dry time, I think it helps a little but I also have very thick hair so it takes forever to dry no matter what.

Equate Cocoa Butter Lotion |  For being under $1 at Walmart, this lotion is pretty darn good.  I’ve used it several times over the past few years.  The scent is good & doesn’t feel sticky or greasy.  It soaks into my skin right away but that could also be because it’s the middle of winter right now.

Matrix Color Obsessed Shampoo & Conditioner Samples |   These were part of a Christmas gift so I tried these right after I dyed my hair dark red.  I probably wouldn’t purchase full size bottles of this stuff though as it really didn’t feel that great on my hair.

Tresemme Smooth & Silky Conditioner |  I bought this at the same time as the shampoo which I mentioned in my last empties post.  It’s not terrible but I would probably recommend something that is a little better quality.

Maybelline Eyeshadow Quad ‘Natural Smokes’ |  I was going through my make-up recently & realized that I have had this for-ev-er.  I’m talking over 4 years now (I remember buying this when Ulta opened in Lincoln in 2012.. hah) so I thought it was a good time to toss it.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder |  I also LOVE LOVE this stuff and have used it for the past several years.  I feel like I go through it so fast so I’m constantly re-purchasing it.  But, the price is good as well as the quality!

Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation |  I wanted to try something different from my usual Revlon foundation so I gave this a try.  I don’t feel like it really did anything for my skin but I didn’t mind it.  Not sure if you can tell from the picture but there is still quite a bit left at the bottom.  I could not get the top off for the life of me so I ended up just tossing it.

Rimmel BB Cream (Matte) |  I haven’t been using BB creams as often as I used to lately so when I saw that this bottle actually expired in September 2016, I decided to toss it.  I really like this product as far as BB creams go & have purchased this a few times over the years.

Rimmel ‘Scandaleyes’ Eyeliner |  This is my go-to eyeliner that I have purchased & re-purchased at least 20 times, if not more.  I always go back to this one because a.) the price and b.) it lasts throughout the day!  The only thing I don’t like about this eyeliner is that it really starts to break apart when you close to the end.  This one still had some left but because it just kept breaking, I decided to give up.

NYC Loose Powder |  I’ve purchased this a few times & it lasts FOREVER.  I think the quality is really good compared to the price!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge |   The best blending sponge!  I’ve purchased & re-purchased this many many times.  I use this every single day!

A random assortment of makeup that I’ve had in my collection for too many years — Essence Eyeshadow Single in ‘Party All Night’ (one of my favorites but they stopped making it, of course), Nyx Liquid Eyeliner in ‘Glam Black’, Essence liquid eyeliner, Covergirl bronzer, a perfume sample, Benefit Roller Lash mascara (this was the birthday month free gift from Ulta TWO years ago!), Maybelline taupe eyeshadow (I’ve had this for-ev-er and have only used it a handful of times), and ELF eyeshadow primer.

Have you used any of these products?  What did you think?
