Today is going to require A LOT of coffee after this past weekend. And last weekend which I feel like I’m still kind of recovering from. I’m getting too old for concerts that end up going past midnight– Highly Suspect last weekend & Eric Church this weekend. Anywho, let’s get on with the weekend!
Friday after work, we met up with Curtis’ parents and hit up the last fish fry for the year. Last year was the first year that I had ever been to one. The church that we went to was packed! And thankfully they had macaroni & cheese instead of all fish. I just can’t get over the weird taste/smell of it. We headed back home afterward & sat around the rest of the evening. I finished reading Darktown and I think I was asleep shortly after 11pm. Woooo.. wild Friday night!
Saturday morning, I hit up the gym around 10:30 which was awesome. It was pretty dead which meant I got to take up as much space as I wanted & use all the equipment. I finished around 11:45 and made a quick stop at the mall. I’ve been wanting some ripped jeans, mainly to wear to the concert that night but no luck.
Then it was back home to start getting ready! Luke & Nancee got to our house a little after 4 and then we met up with Jacquelyn at her hotel downtown just before 5. Britnee showed up not long after and we were off to find a place to eat before the concert. First, we decided on Blatt since it was right by the hotel + the Century Link but it was packed! Then we walked all the way to the Old Market and just about every single restaurant was full. We tried Spaghetti Works, Jams, Michael’s Cantina, Wilson & Wasburn, and Taphouse before finally decided to grab sandwiches at Pickleman’s.
We walked SO much, it was ridiculous. But we found a nice family to take a group picture of us along the way!
I don’t own cowboy boots…. 😛
We made it to the Century Link just in time to walk all over the arena + grab a beer before the show. Eric Church took the stage at 8:30!
I wasn’t able to get ANY videos besides Snapchat ones because my phone didn’t have enough space! 🙁 But… this also was my third time seeing him & his shows are pretty memorable. He took a 20 minute intermission and then played until almost midnight! It was such a GOOD show. I don’t listen to much country these days but I think I’ll always love his music. Plus, he loves Omaha/Council Bluffs because he played a lot of small shows around here before getting really big so I know he will always come back whenever he’s on tour!
After the show, we headed back to Jacquelyn’s hotel room & the guys picked us up. Luke & Nancee headed back home while I passed out. All the walking left awful blisters on my heels (stupid Target sandals…) and a ridiculous stomach ache by the end of the night.
I skipped the gym on Sunday morning, grabbed an iced coffee from McDonalds, and spent the morning relaxing. My mom came to Omaha so we met up for a late lunch at Cheesecake Factory for her birthday. After that, we ran some errands which involved getting a new waffle maker & coffee grinder along with some groceries. And then spent the rest of the evening doing some cleaning, meal prepping, blogging updates, and writing this post.
On another note, the tulips that I planted last fall REALLY popped this weekend! We’ve had so much rain lately and Friday was the first day that the sun came out in nearly two weeks. I picked some to put in a vase in the house & also for my mom as a birthday present. I’m so happy that they survived! (the picture makes them look really orange but they are more of a peach/coral color!)
Well, time to wrap this up. I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do today at work so I actually might need double coffee! Have a great day everyone!
Linking up with Biana!
