Empties Vol. 3

Woo, more empties!  I have A LOT for this post too so it’s safe to say that I’m working my way through everything.  Within the past few months, I’ve stopped buying things I don’t need just because it’s something new or something I haven’t tried.

Banana Boat Self Tanning Lotion ‘Deep Dark Color’ |  I mix this with the Tanwise spray to get a better color.  By itself I don’t think this stuff is as dark as the bottle claims.

Tanwise Creamy Tanning Lotion |  This was a new-to-me product by Tanwise that I decided try on a whim while they were having a ‘Buy 2, Get 1 Free’ sale.  I’m SO glad I did!  This stuff is pretty comparable to Jergens Natural Glow but the color is so much better!  The one thing I didn’t care for with this lotion was how sticky it felt.  It takes awhile for it to soak in to your skin.

Tanwise Sunless Tanning Spray x2 |  Love love love this stuff!  It only comes in one color & it is a really good color!  I cannot recommend this stuff enough.

Ulta Tinted Sunless Mist ‘Medium to Deep’ |  I have been using this stuff off & on over the past several years but I think I got a bad batch with this bottle.  I’ve had pretty good luck with the color but this one did not seem to develop as well as the ones I’ve used in the past.  I’m hoping my next bottle is better!

Suave Visible Glow Gradual Tanning Lotion |  So, I’m not sure if this stuff still exists.  The link I included is from Walmart but shows as out of stock.  I was digging through our closet & saw that I still had a bottle of this that wasn’t completely finished.  I’ve used it off & on in the past and it’s not as good as Jergens, that’s for sure.

Jergens Natural Glow x2 |  YES YES YES.  Go buy this now!  I’ve been using this lotion for years & always go back to it.

Nkd Skn Tinted Tan Liquid |  I broke my own rule of never buying self tanning products from the clearance section.  I think I paid only $6 for it + it was at Kohl’s so I wasn’t sure if I could return it after opening.  Anywho, this stuff was definitely expired by the time I got it.  It had some color but not as good as it should have been.  I want to try more products from this line but NOT ones that are on sale.

Nivea In Shower Lotion |  This is probably one of the best inventions as it saves so much time in the mornings!  Plus it isn’t sticky and is actually really moisturizing.  100% recommend… but only this cocoa butter one.  I’m not a fan of the others.

Bedhead Urban Antidotes Shampoo |  I have used other Bedhead products before so decided to give this a try during a liter sale this past winter.  When I first started using, I really liked it but then it seemed like my hair got used to it or maybe it just built up.  I don’t know, I started to hate it about halfway through but finished as much as possible before I finally gave up on it.

Up & Up Blackhead Scrub |  Nope.  Do not recommend.  This did not clean my skin very well & I would still have makeup on my face after using.

Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash |  Love it!  I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t care much about the scent of my body wash as long as it’s moisturizing.  My skin needs it!

Joico K-Pak Deep Conditioner |  This didn’t feel like your typical deep conditioner.  It was super light & it felt like it took a lot of product to cover my entire head.  I would leave it on for the 3-5 minutes but I didn’t feel like it was that conditioning.  Thankfully it was the travel size!

Equate Soothing Cream & Equate Healing Ointment |  I’m putting these together as I typically use these two together.  This stuff was a life saver this past winter as my skin was not having it.  The bottle claims that the soothing cream is “non greasy” but I have to disagree.  This stuff takes awhile to soak into your skin so I would normally put it on at night before bed.

Herbal Essences Sheer Moisture Cucumber & Green Tea |  Since it seems that Herbal Essences stopped making my beloved ‘Tealightfully Clean’ shampoo, I decided to give this a try as it seemed pretty similar.  I think I love this stuff even more and have already re-purchased it!  It’s not something to use every day though as it does kind of feel like a clarifying shampoo.

Softsoap Fresh & Glow Exfoliating Body Wash |  Exfoliating is so important before putting on self tanner.  This is the stuff I always use & recommend!

EOS Shave Cream x3 |  Obviously, another love!  I wish they would make bigger ones because I always feel like I’m always running out.  However, I refuse to go back to regular shaving cream after using this!

NYC BB Cream |  I think I bought this last spring/summer and barely used it because it’s awful.  This bottle is mostly full and I don’t even want to try to use it up.  Even though it is a BB cream, the coverage is horrible.  It also doesn’t last very long before it just fades away.  DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Maybelline Baby Lips Chapstick |  A chap stick that I managed to fully complete without losing it!  I thought this stuff was really good & would definitely recommend.

Wet N’ Wild Color Icon Bronzer |  You can’t beat the price for this bronzer!  The color is really good & lasts throughout the day.  Unfortunately, this one broke into a hundred pieces before I completely finished it & I didn’t care to take the time to try to put it back together.

Jordana ‘Best Volume Extreme’ Mascara |  Nope nope nope.  I picked this up on a whim after I saw some YouTube videos that mentioned this brand of mascara being wonderful.  It wasn’t as dark as I thought it was going to be so I had to use several coats + I even mixed it with the Maybelline mascara to try to get better color.  It dried out within a month so I do not recommend!

Maybelline ‘The Colossal’ Mascara |  I always use ‘The Falsies’ but I decided to give this stuff a try.  I know I’ve used it in the past but couldn’t remember it exactly.  Unfortunately, I felt that it didn’t live up to my beloved ‘Falsies’ but I used it up anyway.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in ‘YDK’ |  Clearly this is an OLD eye shadow as Urban Decay hasn’t had this packaging for quite some time.  I’ve had it for years & made it a point to use it all up so I could finally toss it!

Rimmel ‘Scandaleyes’ Eyeliner |  My go-to all time favorite eyeliner!  The bad thing about it is it starts to break off into tiny pieces when you get towards the end even though there is still quite a bit of product left.  It’s almost impossible to sharpen it without getting black flakes everywhere.

Maybelline Eyeshadow in ‘Champagne Fizz’ |  I can’t find this exact color anymore!  I always wear a highlight eyeshadow on my brow bone and this color has been my go-to for years.  I’ve already re-purchased it & have been using it every day.

Equate Nighttime Soothing Face Wipes |  I’ve always liked the Equate brand of face wipes compared to the name brand ones.  I will say that these didn’t really soothe my skin as the name claims but they did a pretty good job of taking off my makeup.

If you stuck around through all of this, THANK YOU!  I’m definitely not going to hoard as much for next time….

  1. the jergens glow takes too long for me to develop colour (i’m medium tone) but i do like the smell and it doesn’t make my skin react so i would also recommend this!

I agree, it can take awhile to get some color from it. I use it mostly to prolong my self tanner so that I only put it on once a week rather than twice!

I used to use the same tinted Jergen’s face moisturizer for YEARS and I loved it! I don’t know if it made me much more tan when I used it once a day (I did twice a day in a darker shade and it did, but made my nose orange). So I used fair and I just love that lotion. It was never oily either and didn’t go on like other SPF lotions. BUT I recently traded in -most- of my personal care products to try and go more natural, and Jergen’s sadly didn’t fit my goals anymore so I gave it up for Burt’s Bees. I normally buy expensive shampoo, but bought some Bed Head shampoo and conditioner at Costco for $17 total for the big bottles and I’m NOT a fan. I haven’t bought “cheap” shampoo in YEARS and I don’t think I will again. I LOVE Sebastian shampoo and I really like my S Factor shampoo too. Both are about $40 per bottle for the big ones though, but I don’t wash my hair every day, so I feel like it’s not as bad. I’ll be investing again eventually, but I’m going to try to use the Bed Head stuff for now. I use the same Maybelline eyeshadow! I love it. I don’t know that it lasts all day, even with a primer, but I still love it. I’ve been using it since high school and now I’m 31, hah.

I have’t used their face lotion in a long time… so weird that it made your nose turn orange! Yes, the Bedhead products were a major disappointment. I had used them in the past & didn’t mind them so I was happy to see that those bottles were on sale for only $12. I’ve never tried any Sebastian shampoo or conditioner but have the thermal spray which I don’t mind. I’ve been using that eye shadow forever too! I swap between that one & the Cover Girl one sometimes… usually if I’m at Ulta because it seems like they are always out of stock of one or the other.
