What’s New

Happy happy Wednesday!

Did you all have a good Halloween?  Ours wasn’t anything too special.  I wanted to dress up for work this year as my office is usually pretty festive.  But, I was scheduled to work with the walk in clients so that meant business casual attire.  Oh well, maybe next year!  We handed out some candy to a few trick or treaters but it was a pretty slow night thanks to SNOW and the fact that it was freezing cold outside!

Speaking of snow, it has been SO cold here lately and we finally had to turn the furnace on last week.  It practically feels like winter already.  I’ve officially packed away all the summer clothes & busted out the boots/scarves/gloves/winter coat/etc.  Ugh.

This past weekend, we went to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch with some friends for the first time ever!  This isn’t a typical pumpkin patch though.  It’s like a pumpkin patch on steroids.  I can see how this would be fun to go to as a kid because they have a ton of stuff to do.  They had some things for adults but otherwise, we just walked around the majority of the time.  And rode the big slide.  And had to take a picture in their famous rocking chair!

Sunday morning, we headed to Lincoln to cheer on Nancee at the Good Life Halfsy!  We parked by the 12 mile mark just in time to see her go by and then met up at the finish line in the Railyard.  I’m so proud of her for completing a half marathon!  I can’t even imagine the training and pain of running that far, haha.  She claims that she will never do it again!

Today is the first day for Trek Up The Tower registration and you can bet I’m signing up for it again!  I definitely need to tweak my training this year though.  The stair machine is pointless because you’re not actually going up stairs but rather just pushing them down.  I’ve been running on the treadmill a few times a week although not as much recently because my ankle is being stupid.  My goal is to get under 9 minutes since the last two years have been between 9-10 minutes.

What else is new?  I mentioned in a previous post that I was trying to decide what to do with this little ‘ol blog as my site hosting is up this month.  Well, I decided that it wasn’t worth to spend the $$ on another year when my motivation has completely gone out the window these last few months.  I had gotten a pretty awesome deal on my hosting during Black Friday last year and the price of another year is more than double that amount.  Yuck.  So, I think I’ll take a nice long break from the blogging world at the end of this month.  I mean, I enjoy blogging and having something to look back on so I don’t think I’ll be gone forever.  If I do come back, it will probably be on my old Blogger account.

I am looking forward to a nice long weekend which can’t come soon enough.  I’m leaving work at 12 on Friday and not going back until Tuesday.  Then we have next Friday off thanks to the holiday so next week will be very short for me!  I need to plan another week or 10 day vacation though.  But to do NOTHING.  All the long vacations I’ve taken from work have been to go on trips somewhere.  I need a break to just sleep in, sit at home, do some work around the house, and relax!

Have a great day everyone!

Thank you! This pumpkin patch is the biggest one in the area and seems like everyone has their picture taken on this chair!

  2. I get not wanting to pay for the domain if you’re not using it as much…it’s why I let my other blog lapse and went free with blogger.

Right! Like, I knew the price of renewal wouldn’t be near what I paid for last year but I about choked when I got the email telling me how much it would actually cost! I’m much more familiar with Blogger too so I guess we will see!

oh bummer you couldn’t dress up! a few girls at my work did but i didn’t. maybe next year. i sit up the front so it can’t be anything crazy. i would love to take some days at home and do nothing, seriously. it would be glorious. i get not wanting to spend money on the domain if you aren’t using it. they certainly get super expensive.

I’m so jealous of the snow you’ve been getting! I’m from Colorado and now live in Northern California, and up until this week it’s been in the mid 80s. Luckily now it’s finally cooling off and I’m eyeing all my packed away winter clothes.

That pumpkin patch sounds amazing! Love the big rocking chair 🙂

We had a pretty warm fall up until the past few weeks but I am definitely not a fan of snow! I will take the 80 degree temps this time of year over that, haha. The pumpkin patch was crazy! I had never been therefore but it is huge & was fun!

Bummed that you’ll be leaving! You can buy a domain at WordPress for like, $20 a year or $30 a year. I did the $99 for this year so I could run ads, but then ended up not needing that anyway, so I’ll downgrade next year. But it was cheap for my old blog.

Oh! I had no idea about the WordPress domain?? That is much more reasonable! I actually might look into that instead. Thanks for letting me know about that!
